Help Community Music Center's older adult choirs perform during the lunchtime program at the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. The choirs needs help in the green room, at the merchandise table, and they need an usher to help them to and from the stage.

This is a great opportunity to take in a beuaitful out door festival and help older adults with their performance.

Must be good with the public, personable, and able to handle money (if working the merchandise table).

Mission Statement

Community Music Center was founded in 1921 on the philosophy that age, ethnic background, and income level must never be obstacles to participation in the life-enhancing qualities of a music education. CMC is a community resource where the study of music is a cherished undertaking and the program is based on excellence, diversity, and accessibility.

Description

Community Music Center (CMC) welcomes students of all ages and abilities. Students may take private lessons year-round in 30 instruments, voice, sight-singing, and composition from a faculty of over 120 professional musicians. Many music styles are taught including western classical, jazz, latin, folk, middle eastern and blues. Classes range from an orchestra workshop to a jazz ensemble and advanced theory class. During the 2013-14 school year, over 2,400 students of all ages, ethnicities and income levels enrolled in CMC programs and over 19,500 people enjoyed musical performances at no or low cost at CMC's Mission District Branch and beyond. Together, our dedicated teachers, students, and generous supporters make musical study available to everyone in the Bay Area.
