Purpose/Objective:

The Cinco de Mayo Festival is a family oriented event. There will be entertainment, resource booths and fun zones for youth and children. Specifically, we currently need more volunteer to help with Face Painting!


Location:

Officer Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park

3795 Fairmount Ave. San Diego CA 92105

(located next to the library)


Date:

Friday May 5 th 2017


Number of Volunteers: 5 per shift


Key Responsibilities:

Set Up/Break Down:

  • Help to set up canopies, tables and chairs

  • Help agencies to breakdown their booths

  • Ensure that everything gets removed and taken away

Resource booths:

  • Assign booths and provide material needed

  • Provide assistance to agencies: help them to locate their spot

  • Place program and raffle schedule

Children’s area:

  • Face painting

  • Make sure everyone stays in line

  • Make sure everyone takes a turn

Back stage:

  • Support the backstage coordinator

  • Make sure all performers are ready15 min before their performance

  • Make sure only performers are on the backstage area


Qualifications:

~Must be at least 18 years old

~Must have reliable transportation


Time Commitment:

Face Painting (5:00pm- 7:00pm)

~Will be invited to attend our annual Volunteer Recognition Lunch in June

~Gain experience working with youth and diverse groups

~Gain knowledge and experience volunteering with a non-profit organization
