Mission Statement: https://operationsupplydrop.org
The mission of local chapters of Operation Supply Drop, The Teams is to build local groups of active duty, Veterans and Civilian supporters devoted to giving back at the local community level. All this while creating a welcoming community where these individuals from different walks of life can relax, have fun, affect others and be accepted around a shared purpose.
Description
While there are many amazing military charities and social clubs around the world, we felt no one organization was serving the social needs of this current generation of veterans. With the help of many of our Veteran and Civilian volunteers, community level chapters of The Teams were born.
Leading a local chapter of The Teams can be an incredibly rewarding experience. The position has various types of challenges as well. If you are reading this document considering helping us support veterans, understand that it takes time and energy to make a local chapter of The Teams successful. This could include you working and organizing volunteers at a location instead of attending it. The Team's leadership set the tone on how we serve veterans in our local chapters. We believe veterans deserve the most dedicated individuals leading the action arm of Operation Supply Drop. If that is you, then we can’t wait to have you in the family.
What are Teams?
Teams are semi-autonomous chapters all working independently as well as in conjunction with each other in support of the worldwide Operation Supply Drop (OSD) mission of supporting veterans. Teams are self reliant and come up with interesting and beneficial "Mandatory Fun" events that engage their chapter team members, local veterans, local civilian supporters, and their local community as a whole. Teams work closely with local businesses, organizations and companies to help with growth and sustainability. Teams also create active and engaged communities online through social media. Each Team is different, made up and directed by individuals, but all maintain the consistent message of OSD. Teams have one simple goal and that is to affect someone’s life daily.More opportunities with OSD (We Are OSD)
