On Saturday, May 13 th is the National Letter Carriers Food Drive, this food drive collects over a Million Pounds of Food for those in need in the Metro Detroit Area.
We are looking for volunteers to assist with helping set-up empty totes on pallets and unloading 40 pound trays of food from small postal trucks and putting the food into the totes at the Warren Distribution Center, 24162 Mound Rod, Warren, MI 48091. We are looking for 7 volunteers per shift, shifts are 1pm-4:30 and 4:30-8pm. We welcome volunteers 14 and up, students 14-17 must volunteer with a parent.

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.
Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
