The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation GA Chapter begins ramping up the planning for this year’s Starry Night 2017, aiming to raise more money and elevate the experience from years past. We are looking for some motivated and passionate volunteers to join our 2017 Starry Night Sub-Committee Task Force.
What is Starry Night? The Starry Night Run/Walk i s a family-friendly event (open to the public), which includes a 5k run,1-mile walk and 50-yard dash as well as a Kid Zone, tented VIP/"Star Family" area and Team Village. The event concludes with a lantern ceremony in honor of the kids currently battling this terrible disease and in memory those who are no longer with us. All proceeds from the event will benefit pediatric brain tumor research and the Butterfly Fund, which provides financial assistance to families with children receiving treatment.
What is a sub-committee member? We are looking for volunteers to help plan, organize and execute on tasks leading up to the event. A sub-committee member also holds a key role on the day of the event. Sub-committee members will primarily focus in 1 or more of the following areas.
- Recruitment
- Event Day Festivities
- Sponsorships
- Star Families
- Logistics
- Volunteers
- Media
- Race
- Community Events
W hatever your skills and experience, we can find a role for you as a sub-committee member of Starry Night Atlanta.
How much time will it take? We estimate only about 2-3 hours every other week depending on the tasks planned for that month. However, we do ask that you block out November 4th as you would have a integral role on the day of the event.
What do I get out of it? You get to see the product of all of your hard work. The smiling faces of the kids that you are helping makes it all worthwhile. Plus, you get to work with other passionate volunteers who dedicate their time in hopes of a better tomorrow.
How can I become a sub-committee member? Contact Emily Clark at eclark@curethekids.org or Kelli Tracy @ tracy.kelli@yahoo.com to discuss how you can become part of the Starry Night Atlanta team!
Thank you so much for being a part of our mission!
