Sadie Nash Leadership Project Girls Lead 5K Run
A fun run to support young women leaders in both Newark and New York City.

Volunteers are needed for the Sadie Nash Newark "1st Annual Girls Lead 5k Run" on the Lenape Trail in Branch Brook Park. This community event will support our award-winning summer and afterschool programs that deliver high-quality leadership programming to over 125 young women from the Greater Newark area annually.

There are many volunteer positions available, from photography, race packet assembly, to set up, tear down and clean up helpers, to food service, to course marshalls and cheerleaders along the course! This is a great opportunity for volunteers of all ages and abilities as well as groups of all sizes! Bring the whole family out!

Mission Statement

Sadie Nash Leadership Project was founded in 2001 to promote leadership and activism among young women. The program is designed to strengthen, empower, and equip young women as agents for change in their lives and in the world. By increasing the participation of women in social, political, and economic decision-making, SNLP seeks to question and redefine the nature of leadership and to promote perspectives and practices that are cooperative, accountable, ethical, and effective.

Description

Sadie Nash is designed to guide young women through a process in which they come to understand the importance of their individual life experiences, and how these experiences can be applied to taking action and making a change. We are an educational and advocacy program that provides young women the opportunity to analyze and explore the very nature of leadership.
