The Administrative Service Center of the Timberland Regional Library in Tumwater is looking for a volunteer to assist us with clerical tasks such as preparing packets of information, filing, assisting with replenishing materials, photocopying and other such tasks. The work is performed at the Service Center in Tumwater.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop packets of information from existing documents
Photocopy, scan and fax
Prepare files for disposal or shredding, such as removing clips or staples
Place files in order
Assist staff with replenishing materials for public use, such as kits
Make and return phone calls
Handle inquiries and incoming work requests
Send emails
Check and enter data
Assist with set-up of rooms for meetings and training
Assist in the preparation of bulk mailings
Other duties as assigned
Keep office area neat and tidy
Purpose of the Position
Administrative staff have to complete many tasks each day and on occasion, they can use assistance in helping them with tasks and assignments that allow them to focus on immediate projects. This volunteer will help prepare packets of information, prepare documents for photocopying or shredding, and other support functions. There are also special projects, which may require research and decision-making.
Qualifications
We’d like someone who is used to working in a library or office environment and is approachable, personable and reliable. Use of computers is a must, especially Office.
Commitment Expected
We would like someone who can commit to 10 hours a week, sometime between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Perhaps two 5-hour days.
Reports to Executive Assistant to the Library Director

Timberland Regional Library (TRL) is a public library system that provides library services to the residents of five counties in Southwest Washington State: Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston Counties. Under Washington State law, TRL is an Intercounty Rural Library District and is funded by property taxes and revenue from timber sales in the 5-county area.
