Changing Worlds' Annual Benefit is rapidly approaching on Wednesday, May 16th, and we are in need of great volunteers to help with various tasks throughout the day and during the event. The event takes place at the Chicago History Museum on 1601 N. Clark Street in Chicago.
Volunteers may be asked to attend a training session on-site. The date and time for this training will be forthcoming. If you cannot attend the training, there will be day-of training available, so don't let that stop you from volunteering!
This would be a great experience for those who'd like to get a behind the scenes look at how events are set up, run, and managed. It’s also a great way for high school seniors or juniors to get service hours. We will need help the week before (dates and times to be determined) and the day of, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You can sign up for a time slot (minimum 2 hours). We do not expect you to stay all day, but you are welcome to!
Our fundraiser helps us to grow and promote our efforts to enhance cross-cultural understanding through writing and art programs for youth.
Main responsibilities would include:
- Help setting up
- Set-up Art Wall
- Registering attendees
- Greeting and ushering
- Setting up the ballroom
- Supervising student performers
- Selling raffle tickets
- Facilitating the Mission Stations
- Packing-up
If you are interested please email Umeki Ramsey at uramsey@changingworlds.org. Please include what tasks you are interested in and your time availability on Wednesday, May 16th.
Snacks and dinner will be provided!
