The Historic Sahuaro Ranch(HSR) has an undergraduate or graduate level internship/volunteer opportunity working with Museum Collections staff on various collections management projects. A full inventory of the museums' collection including historic objects, education props, and historic buildings is currently in process.
Work involves a variety of collections management, archival, and research activities such as artifact handling, cataloging, photography, re-housing, and use of the PastPerfect database; archival organization; historical object and loan documentation research.
This internship/volunteer opportunity is ideal for undergraduate or graduate level students in Museum Studies, Public History, Anthropology, Library or Archivist degree programs.

At the Historic Sahuaro Ranch (HSR), history is preserved so the community can participate in the ongoing development of educational and social experiences that connect Glendale residents and visitors to the past and to each other.
Description
Preserving one of the Valley’s oldest and most magnificent ranches, the 17-acre Historic Sahuaro Ranch (HSR) features 13 original buildings, a rose garden, barnyard, and historic orchards.
Listed on the National Register of Historical Places and known as the "Showplace of the Valley," the Historic Sahuaro Ranch offers educational activities, special events and guided tours-keeping the history of early settlement in the Valley alive.
Tours of historic buidlings are available to the public on a weekly schedule free of charge, offering an insider look at the history of what life was like on the Ranch during the late 1800's and early 1900's. The HSR also offers immersive educational opportunites for school groups looking for field trips that cover a wide range of Arizona history topics. Over the 100 year operation of the HSR, three of the "Five C's of Arizona" were cultivated here, making a significant contribution to Arizona's economy.
