Hospice patient in Nursing home is in need of companionship since his family is either living out of town or working. Volunteer may simply tallk to the patient, watch TV, read to them, or participate in activities at the facility.
There are no set hours for you to visit, and no set time or day that you will need to go. This opportunity is perfect for students, working people, or retirees who simply want to"pay it forward" by visiting a lonely patient at a very critical time in their life.
Training with the Mgr of Volunteer Services in required, plus a TB screening paid for by Kindred.
This is an opportunity for you to be a blessing to the patient, while receiving the benefit of getting to know someone you will never forget.

The purpose of Gentiva Hospice care is to assist individuals with serious illness to live as fully as possible surrounded by family and friends until the end of life. Hospice programs focus on patient directed care that maximizes comfort and quality of life. Quality of life is also enhanced by program services that support the patient’s family in maintaining the patient in the home.
