Spend your summer gaining valuable, direct patient experience and knowledge by joining Fairview Hospice’s Summer Medical Explorers program! This 8-week program is an ideal opportunity for college students who are interested in a medical career. Volunteers will be required to give at least 8 hours of service per week and will attend a weekly in-service at our office in Minneapolis (Thursdays from 10-11:15 am) led by medical professionals. Our patients are located throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Timing is flexible and will be scheduled directly with the patients you visit. Description
When life expectancy is limited, Accentcare Fairview Hospice staff and volunteers will help patients and caregivers focus on improving the quality of their remaining days. Hospice provides medical, emotional, social and spiritual care. We bring these services to the familiar setting of patient's own homes whenever possible. The same kind of care may also be given at a long-term care site, a group home, an assisted living site or a residential hospice.
