Food Reclamation is in need of drivers for the 2016-2017 school year! Each day Guilford County Schools are in session drivers pick up uneaten, fresh food from cafeterias. Food is either taken to 3910 Clifton Rd to be repacked and delivered to various recreation centers, or directly to the recreation center a particular school serves.
Drivers play a vital role in providing an evening meal to the children enrolled at Greensboro's Recreation Sites. Without them, there is no way we would be able to provide over 1300 meals every week to children in need. This year we will provide 1.5 million meals to local children!
Doing a delivery for OOTGP takes about 30 minutes out of your day. Cafeterias are ready to have food picked up around 1:00, and before the hour is up you've personally helped many children in need.
We are currently in need of volunteers for the following schools/days:
Hairston Middle/Falkener Elementary on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Jefferson Elementary on Wednesdays and Fridays
Vandalia Elementary on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays
Jackson Middle on Mondays and Tuesdays
