RYAC - Growing a future for Renton Youth

Are you thinking of going back into the professional arena? Or do you have a bit of extra time on your hands now that you're retired? Why not volunteer at RYAC? You can time-share with a friend or neighbor, build your resume, set an example for your kids, or do it just for yourself.

Our daily volunteers are sadly stretched and in need of office help so that they can concentrate on the youth who use our program. Ideally we'd like 1-3 volunteers to manage our data entry, help get out letters, create forms, answer phones, and help us with other general office tasks.

Empowering young adults to make positive choices in their lives and in their community.

Description

WE ARE a nonprofit agency providing young adults in the Renton area a safe place after school to learn essential life skills through activities, mentoring, homework assistance and counseling.

WE ARE a program that is in direct response to the growing number of young people that are either falling through the cracks at school or are facing barriers out of their control.

OUR GOAL is to offer a positive support system and give young people skills that will enable them to avoid the pitfalls that can derail them. The focus is slightly different at each age but the goal remains the same; empower the person to make positive changes in his or her life. We focus primarily on middle and high school age youth.
