Thank you for your interest in participating as a Docent Volunteer with Dogs for Better Lives. We are looking for dedicated people to share the work we do with the public that visit our facility.

Tours are conducted weekly Monday through Friday except on major holidays.

April - September tours are offered at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

October - March tours are offered at 11:00 AM.

We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of three hours a week for a minimum of twelve months. The process includes a brief meeting with our Docent Coordinator to share the duties of this opportunity as well as answer any questions. Training will include an orientation meeting, an issued Tour Binder, observation of two tours and demonstration of one tour. A name badge will be provided to all Docent Volunteers.

In January 2017, Dogs for Better Lives celebrated 40 years rescuing and placing assistance dogs nationwide. We hope you will consider this opportunity in support of the life changing work we accomplish from our facility in Central Point, Oregon.

About Dogs for Better Lives

Location:

10175 Wheeler Rd, Central Point, OR 97502, US

Mission Statement

Dogs for Better Lives' mission is to professionally train dogs to help people and enhance lives while maintaining a lifelong commitment to all dogs we rescue or breed and the people we serve.

Description

Dogs for Better Lives professionally trains dogs to become Hearing Assistance Dogs, Facility Dogs, and Autism Assistance Dogs. We do this at a minimal cost of an application fee to the client.

Dogs for Better Lives travels to the client for an interview. Following the application process the dog is delivered to the client by the Certified Assistance Dog Trainer that trained the dog. The Trainer spends several days supporting the client in their daily activities with their new Assistance dog.

Dogs for Better Lives maintains a lifelong commitment to our clients and dogs!
