"Research is formalized curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose." - Zora Neale Hurston

Are you curious about grants?

Albany Public Library Foundation seeks one or more volunteers interested in researching the landscape of charitable foundations, with the purpose of finding new support for the wonderful programs of the Albany Public Library.

Grant Research Volunteer responsibilities would include:
* Researching applicable grants
* Calendar planning for grant proposals
* Assembling checklists for grant proposal requirements.

Interested volunteers are welcome to draft and produce grant Letters of Inquiry or full grant proposals for submission, but this is not an expectation. The primary responsibility will be researching potential grant opportunities and updating our grant deadlines calendar.

Grant Research volunteers will immerse themselves in grant research for several weeks. Interested applicants should either have some non-profit experience, or a strong desire to gain such experience. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the philanthropic landscape! Candidates should be able to commit 2-4 hours per week to this volunteer position, for at least 6 weeks.
