PRERNA is a non-profit humanitarian organization that empowers refugees with the opportunity to rebuild a sustainable life in the United States. We help refugees across all ethnicities and faiths become independent with continuum care. Our services include housing, healthcare, supplies, cultural assimilation, education and employment opportunities. We are located in Santa Clara County, California.
About the Position
PRERNA is seeking an Events Coordinator to lead our fundraising and friend-raising activities in the Bay Area. You will be working with PRERNA’s leadership team and be involved with all aspects of event planning and execution. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented person to join a fast-paced, start-up that is making a difference to help refugees rebuild their lives in the United States. Volunteers must meet critical deadlines and be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable and must possess a strong sense of responsibility
Qualifications
* 2+ years of events planning experience, preferably at a non-profit organization
* Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
* Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
* Effective communicator and troubleshooter
* Able to make decisions and follow through with minimal supervision
* Flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities
* Able to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups
* Strong knowledge and active use of social media
* 8-10 hours a week, depending on event schedule
