The Amigos Editor produces the electronic and paper mailings of the Friends of the Camarillo Library newsletter (Amigos). The Editor works with and interfaces with members of the Board of Directors, various volunteers of the Friends of the Camarillo Library, and Camarillo Library employees.

The Amigos Editor is a voting member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Camarillo Library. As such, attendance is required at monthly board meetings. Board meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 1 pm at the Camarillo Public Library (except for July and August).

The duties of the Editor center around the formatting and communication of the newsletter. The Amigos is delivered electronically via MailChimp and through Mail Manager, our direct mail service provider, depending of the preference of the Friends member. Knowledge of MailChimp or similar service is helpful. The Editor receives newsletter submissions from multiple contributors, organizes them into two newsletter formats (electronic and paper), and performs an initial proofreading for grammar and spelling. The original contributors then provide the final proofreading. The paper edition of the newsletter is then sent to Mail Manager for delivery. The electronic edition of the newsletter is sent out several days after the paper edition is sent to Mail Manager so both editions arrive to our members simultaneously.

The majority of the work is done virtually. Training will be provided. Backup support can be provided on an occasional basis.
