Help families in the community engage with art! No art expertise required!

Help out at special events where we will have a family art table. Volunteers do not need to be art experts - just interested in helping families have an enjoyable experience. A staff member will be on site each day to show volunteers how the projects are done and will provide support.

Mission Statement

In pursuit of artistic excellence, we engage our region’s most talented artists in work that welcomes and develops audiences and opens hearts and minds.

Description

Artistry offers theater productions, visual art exhibitions, outreach programs, and art classes for youth and adults. Theater

From its modest beginnings in the mid-1950s, our theater program now attracts the best directors, choreographers, designers, and other theater artists in the region. Artistry produces eight productions per season, including dramas and comedies in the intimate Black Box Theater and large musicals with a critically-acclaimed pit orchestra in the 366-seat Schneider Theater.

Visual Arts

Artistry showcases the work of emerging and established artists from Minnesota and surrounding states. Each year, we curate 14 exhibitions that span a wide continuum of media and subject matter in two galleries in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, drawing more than 55,000 visits.

Arts Education

We offer year-round classes and workshops at the Bloomington Center for the Arts and bring arts learning experiences to people of all ages and abilities at schools, senior centers, libraries, farmers markets, and shopping centers in Bloomington and beyond.

Public Art and Creative Placemaking

In 2013, we launched a long-term partnership with the City of Bloomington and others to engage artists, designers, and other creative people in public art and creative placemaking.
