The mission of the State Farm Youth Classic is to provide a competitive, professionally-conducted youth golf tournament, and to generate tourism to the Bloomington-Normal area. Since 2002, SFYC has strived to provide a positive, competitive environment. The tournament hosts junior golfers from ages 3-22 to assist in their development and growth through golf. Golfers will participate in six different area golf courses. In 2016, the State Farm Youth Classic attracted 350 of the world's top junior golfers! In all years combined, Bloomington-Normal has welcomed players from 26 states and 14 countries.

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. Volunteers will be helping throughout the entire tournament. We rely on our volunteer to make our tournament a success. We look forward every year to meeting our great volunteers and helping them getting hands on experience with golfers through various positions.

Positions we are looking for:

• Observer:
• Keep an unofficial tally of each competitor’s score.
• Check for accuracy with each competitor after each hole.
• Encourage players to increase the pace of play to keep up, or catch up, with the group ahead.
• Make sure spectators remain a reasonable distance away from the competitors and that there are no cameras, cell phones disrupting the competition.
• Mark the line of flight with a target in the distance to assist in the search.
• Etc.
• Shuttle Driver:
• Each shuttle driver will be responsible for driving golfers from one hole to another that the tournament has deemed too far to walk
• With the shuttle driver they increase the pace of play and are vital for timing in the tournament.
