The average age of all homeless people in the United States is nine years old. How does My New Red Shoes help? My New Red Shoes has served over 45,000 homeless and low-income children and youth since 2006 and is now serving more than 10,000 annually.
We are in need of volunteers who are interested in hosting a virtual shoe drive in their school, community group, club, sports team, faith-based organization, friend/family circle, etc. It doesn't matter where you are located, as this shoe drive is completed primarily online via the My New Red Shoes Amazon Wish List. Advertise your shoe drive to your local community and direct them to donote shoes online. It's a simple way to get involved and give back!
If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact us for more information and to obtain our Shoe Drive Kit which contains "how to" instructions, tips and tricks, a sample email, shoe guidlines, flyers, our online wishlist and even thank you letters for your donors! Set a goal to collect 10, 20, 50, or more shoes and get your community involved!

Mission Statement
My New Red Shoes (MNRS) works to improve the quality of life and well-being of children and youth experiencing economic hardship. At the core of our work is the belief that every child deserves to live a healthy and productive life.
Description
Children living in poverty confront many hardships, but the stress and impact of hot having their basic needs met is consistently cited by researchers, educators, and child welfare advocates as a major barrier to children's healthy development and success in school. By mobilizing resources and advocating for children and families experiencing economic hardship, MNRS actively works to reduce the impact of income inequality. Since 2006, MNRS has connected more than 100,000 local children and their families to resources and supports that boost quality of life, provide stability, strengthen well-being, and cultivate a sense of belonging.
