Description

Berkeley Playhouse is a professional theatre that produces artistically excellent, relevant and intelligent musical plays. We bring together performers and audience members of all ages. We strive to provide experiences that fully engage performers and audiences with opportunities like our pre-show engagement activities, meet the cast sessions following the shows, and displays in the lobby that provide context for each show.

Berkeley Playhouse is also a growing conservatory for theatre arts. We provide classes in theatre performance, singing, and dance where children and adults train in tandem with real-life opportunities and experience in professional mainstage productions. Our classes are taught by some of the most accomplished artists in the Bay Area.

Berkeley Playhouse includes multileveled children's theatre programs, an educational theatre outreach program and the professional company, performing top quality musicals and plays for audiences of all ages. Berkeley Playhouse promises to showcase the wit, intelligence and musical diversity of everyone's favorite productions with direction and performances that appeal to the cultural sophistication of the hip, East Bay Arts audiences.
