A creative, patient and extraordinarily talented event planning professional is needed to plan the inaugural fundraising gala for the 1City Academy Christian Schools. 1City is a new school that will serve students in grades 5 to 12 in New York and New Jersey.
We anticipate that the gala will happen in early to mid 2018 in New York City and will lean to the Event Planner's expertise as to the best venue/location for the event.
The Event Planner will have the services of three corps of volunteers and a Board of Directors at his/her disposal and will work with the Board Chair to plan and implement the event.
Most of the work can be done virtually until we get closer to the gala.
Specific knowledge of event spaces in New York is required.

The mission of MJHS is to aid in the provision of quality education and sound character building programs for young people.
Description
Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
