We are looking for licensed attorneys (licensed in either New York or New Jersey) to serve on the Facilities and Compliance Committees of a newly forming Christian school that will serve students in grades 5 to 12 in New York and New Jersey.

Although the committees serves as a function of our Board of Directors, its members are not members of the Board. Church affiliation or membership is not required for this opportunity.

The Compliance Committee is convened to ensure that the schools are adhering to all of the applicable regulations set by the Education Departments of New York and New Jersey and that the schools adopt policies that minimize risk to the schools. The Facilities Committee will be responsible for overseeing the initial search and purchase/rental of school facilities in New York and New Jersey and will also oversee appropriate major renovations and other facilities projects, making recommendations as appropriate.

The Committees will be convened primarily via conference call and will otherwise work virtually unless a meeting is agreed upon by the members. The committee is on hiatus in July and August and will reconvene in September.

The attorneys would generally be asked to review any policies that the committees develop and share their expertise around any other matters that are brought up for discussion in committee meetings.
