About

Do you speak Spanish and want to get more involved in the local community?

We need YOU to step up and make a difference in the life of a youth who needs you. Although downtown Phoenix is on its way to becoming a bustling place full of local businesses and trendy apartments, the Garfield neighborhood is one of the poorest neighborhoods in our city. Most of our families have an average income of $7800 for a family of four, and all of our families are Spanish-speaking. New Pathways for Youth seeks to partner these amazing youth with caring adult mentors through our transformative mentorship program.

Our evidence-based training and curriculum ensures that this is an effective 1-on-1 relationship for the youth and the mentor. The results are pretty extraordinary - after participating in our program, 75% of our youth pursue post-secondary education! As someone who speaks Spanish, you can connect with these youth and families in a unique way.

If you’d like to learn more about how to get involved, please contact Haley Beckstrand at hbeckstrand@npfy.org.
