ORGANIZATION: Kindred at Home Hospice

Veteran to veteran patient support volunteers provide companionship, emotional support, and caregiver relief to our veteran hospice patients and their families. Veteran patients and their families greatly appreciate a visit from another veteran who has served in the military as they share some of the same experiences of the patient. Support is provided by making regular visits with the patient, and performing services such as discussing current events, life review activities, reading to the patient, playing cards or games, and helping with light household chores and yard work. Are you a veteran interested in helping an end-of-life veteran? The need is great and it's a great way to make a difference in the life of a fellow veteran.
