Marketing Volunteer - Help AseraCare Hospice, York with the writing of press releases, developing and maintaining a website, developing social media sites, and general promoting to assist in the recruitment of volunteers. The Marketing Volunteer would work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteering could occur at the York office or from the volunteer's home.
Requirements:
Be able to provide own transportation.
Complete approximately 6-8 hours of on-line training, and afterwards attend 8-hours orientation OR complete the Volunteer Training (offered on a quarterly basis) at the York office.

We request a nine month commitment, at the least, to our volunteer program.

Description
Hospice is a program of supportive services for terminally ill patients and their families. An interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, home health aides, spiritual care coordinators, therapists and volunteers work together to provide individualized services. All team members are trained in providing emotional support to the patient and family. The hospice team goes to the patient, whether they are living in private homes, nursing homes, hospitals or assisted living communities.
Hospice neither prolongs life nor hastens death. Rather, its goal is to affirm life and encourage the patient to maintain control over decisions that affect his or her quality of life. Support is available 24 hours a day. Hospice care is ready to meet the everchanging physical, emotional, and spiritual needs experienced by the patient and family during the dying and bereavement process.
