PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Any volunteer working in Disaster Services, assisting the Red Cross in delivering its mission by preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergency by mobilizing the power of Volunteers and the generosity of donors. Volunteers will be able to choose from a number of positions that help communities respond to natural and man-made disasters both large and small.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Commit to availablity and rotation schedule.⦆ DAT members respond 24 hours/day during selected volunteer shifts. ⦆Large deployments to national disasters have a 2 week time commitment.⦆
New volunteer orientation.⦆ Introduction to Disaster Services, Community Service, Disaster Assessment.⦆ First Aid/CRP/AED certification.⦆ Shelter Simulation, Client Casework and other training as need and/or required.
