Tell the world you believe Mental Health Matters. Volunteer for Get On Your Mat For Mental Health , an outdoor mega-yoga event, on Wednesday, June 20th at Court Street (between Main St. and Martine Ave.) in White Plains, NY. Registration begins at 5:30pm. Yoga class with the renowned youga teacher Sarah Platt Finger begins at 6:30pm. Help set-up for the event, greet participants, hand out shirts and much more. Family-oriented event includes live music, yoga marketplace, and sponsor exhibit area. Come join us in support of mental health and wellness. The mission of the Mental Health Association of Westchester County, Inc. is to promote mental health in Westchester County through advocacy, community education and direct services.
Description
MHA is the premier mental health agency in Westchester, serving 18,000 individuals each year through advocacy, community education and direct services. MHA's programs provide for early identification of mentalhealth issues, offer community-based treatments, and incorporate evidenced-based interventions. Services include: counseling and support services to children, adolescents, adults, seniors and families, in both licensed clinics and home-based environments; bilingual and bicultural clinical treatment and support services for the Latino population; housing and support for adults with a serious mental illness; community and professional education on topics such as child abuse, mental disorders, stress management, and suicide prevention; The Sterling Community Center, providing support and activities for adults who have a psychiatric disability; advocating for abused children in foster care to attain permanent homes and for the rights, and eradicating the stigma that prevents people from seeking treatment for mental health issues.
