ORGANIZATION: Mental Health America of Georgia

Mental Health America (MHA) of Georgia is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the mental health of Georgians through education, outreach, and advocacy.

MHA of Georgia is looking for an Outreach Coordinator to promote the organization, its mission, and programs, as well as assist with fundraising programs and events. Some of the specific projects on which the successful candidate will work include:

- Assist with annual and mini fundraising events, including our silent auction reception, Sips n Strokes Paint Night, etc. This will include soliciting contributions, securing sponsors, publicizing the events and working with vendors as needed.

-Serve as the point of contact for mini-fundraiser vendors and coordinate logistics for events. This also includes attending the event to operate any raffles, silent auctions, etc.

- Serve as primary administrator on organization’s donor database. This includes entering data into the database and generating acknowledgement letters.

-Maintain MHA of GA’s communications including the general newsletter, social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)

Because MHA of Georgia is a small organization, the student will get exposure to many opportunities that will enhance his/her understanding and knowledge of mental health as related to public health. For example, opportunities to help with our direct programming may arise from time to time, and helping in these situations would be a requirement.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Operations. He/she must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills - both written and oral, and be organized. Further, he/she must take initiative, be a self-starter, and produce quality work. He/She must be able to work independently in a group setting. He/She must have reliable transportation for occasional work duties.

Hours are flexible, but preference will be given to those candidates who can work 15-20 hours/week. This unpaid position is for Summer 2017.

If you are interested in applying, please submit a cover letter and resume to Taimere Wood at Taimere@mhageorgia.org
