Marin Headstart and Early Headstart are Community Action Marin's early childhood education programs that engage families and children in a holistic manner. The program incorporates health, nutrition and includes parent involvement programs that serve over 350 low income children and their families each year. These programs are extremely beneficial to help children develop the skills they need to succeed in school. CAM's central kitchen also provides these children with a healthy meal during the school day which is often the healthiest meal or only meal of their day.
The Headstart and Early Headstart programs are looking for groups to help with restoration projects that include painting, repairing, constructing and creating in their locations which are located all around Marin.
This volunteer opportunity is available for groups and teams, this is a great way to get to know the service that these programs provide to families living in your community. This is also a great team building or family bonding experience as you are providing a need to a prominent non profit in the area. If you are interested, you can sign up to do this on the weekends and it is a great way to spend some time outside helping your community.
