VITAS Healthcare is looking for licensed hairstylists who are interested in sharing their time and talents to provide haircuts to homebound hospice patients. Hair care volunteers are needed throughout Brevard County. Volunteers must be currently licensed in Florida as a cosmetologist (and provide ongoing proof of current licensure). Dependable transportation will be required. VITAS Healthcare will provide training and orientation. Most, but not all, of our patients are senior citizens and hair care must be limited to haircuts only, no perms or colors. .

Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non-medical patient and family care and offering support services in our office. VITAS Healthcare is looking for volunteers who are able to share their time with hospice patients living at home, nursing homes or ALF. Hospice volunteers give their time to terminally ill patients and their caregivers during a critical time. In orientation classes they are trained in listening skills, family dynamics and the right words to say to patients and their loved ones at the end of life.
