Do you love to network? Are you great at sharing the mission of a particular organization or project with others in a group or one on one setting?
We are looking for an energetic spokesperson, who loves to network, to help share the mission of the American Cancer Society with others. Attend networking events on our behalf and help promote the programs and services that we provide here at the American Cancer Society. Let's work within your network to heavily market our event.
We currently have a strong need for volunteers to network/promote our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events in the Greater New Haven and Great Weaterbury areas. We have existing chamber opportunties or utlize your own networks.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. Our Making Strides events in New Haven and Waterbury bring together more than 4500 participants annually and have raised a combined total of nearly $1M over the past 5 years!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just the name of a walk; it describes the progress we’re making together to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Each year our walks are held nationwide to celebrate those who have battled breast cancer, educate about ways to reduce the risk, and empower communities to join the fight. Since 1993, nearly seven million walkers across the country have raised more than $400 million through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - funding breakthrough breast cancer research and helping people stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back. In 2013 alone, nearly 800,000 walkers across the country collected $60 million to fight breast cancer.
Here in New England, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has been taking place since 1993, and we have raised more than $46 million dollars. Each year more and more people come out to support the efforts of the American Cancer Society and join our cause. In 2013, over 3,000 supporters walked the 5K route and helped raise over $130,000 in New Haven County.
Our event is an empowering experience that attracts participants who are committed to taking an active role in creating a cancer-free world. Our passionate supporters are an important audience for your company, and our event offers a valuable opportunity to reach them and let the community know that you too are committed to eliminating breast cancer.
