ORGANIZATION: Found House Interfaith Housing Network

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 4 people are interested

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati provides families experiencing homelessness with emergency shelter.

Our Child Enrichment Program strives to alleviate stress and create a welcoming environment for our youngest shelter guests.

We're looking for volunteer groups to coordinate birthday or other holiday-related parties once per month to take place during our activity time: Tuesday-Friday 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Volunteer groups can provide:

  • Goodie bags
  • A snack
  • Entertainers (clowns, magicians, princesses, etc.)
  • Party games
  • And more!
The great part about this volutneer opportunity is that YOU and your group can decide how the party will be run! This is a great opportunity for families as we allow children to part-take, too! Contact Kate for more information: kate@ihncincinnati.org or 513-471-1100 ext 124

Mission Statement

The mission of Found House Interfaith Housing Network is to provide homeless families and their pets emergency shelter and hospitality through interfaith communities and to work with these families to find and retain stable housing.

Description

Found House is a Unique Response to Homelessness, combining volunteers from the religious community with full-time professionals to reintegrate families into the community. Host Congregations are area churches, temples, and synagogues that provide three meals a day, private sleeping space, and volunteers to create a "home away from home" for the families. Support Congregations assist the Host Congregations by providing donated meals and volunteers. Case Manager helps families find and maintain permanent housing. Bus transports families back and forth between the congregations and the Day Center. The Day Center in Walnut Hills serves as a home base providing adult education classes, a kitchen, laundry facilities, showers, free telephones, a mailing address, computer facilities, and a children's playroom.
