"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring..." -- Leo Buscaglia, Love: What Life Is All About
Simple, right? The only skills you need to become a Grace Hospice Volunteer Visitor are compassion for another human being at the end of his or her life, empathy for the feelings they may be having, the ability to give them your focused attention while you are with them, to listen, to care, to be non-judgmental, and have the desire to support the patient and family as you walk the end-of-life journey with them.
