Cambridge Arts is pleased to announce the 9th annual Cambridge Arts Open Studios, an event showcasing visual, performing, and literary artists active in all neighborhoods of Cambridge. During one spectacular weekend in May 2017, more than 150 Cambridge based artists working in all media will participate in this celebration of art at approximately 85 venues throughout the city.

Cambridge Arts is seeking volunteers to assist with operations during Cambridge Arts Open Studios, to take place Saturday, May 13th and Sunday, May 14th, 2017 between 12 PM and 6 PM. Volunteers will serve as representatives of the Cambridge Arts Council and Open Studios. Duties include common venue supervision, visitor directory, brochure distribution, and more.

Qualifications: Candidates must have an enthusiasm for community arts and engagement with the public and the ability to commit to one to two three-hour shifts of volunteer time. Two shifts are preferred but not required.

Work Schedule: Saturday, May 13th and/or Sunday, May 14th between 12 PM and 6 PM each day. Shifts are three hours each and volunteers are encouraged to work at least two shifts if possible. Additionally, all volunteers are required to attend the Volunteer Planning Pizza Party on Wednesday, May 10th from 6-8 PM. This event will serve as an orientation for Open Studios volunteers during which they will have the opportunity to meet other participants, receive job assignments, and enjoy some pizza.

The Cambridge Arts Council is the official arts agency for the City of Cambridge, MA. Established by City ordinance in 1974 and incorporated as a public non-profit in 1976, CAC's mission is to ensure that the arts remain vital for people living, working and visiting Cambridge. As both a service and presenting organization, CAC accomplishes this mission by stimulating public awareness of and support for the arts, preserving and celebrating the City's diverse cultural heritage, displaying art in public places, and developing opportunities to improve the overall aesthetic experience for residents and visitors of Cambridge.
