The WAVE Foundation Conservation Intern serves as an ambassador for the WAVE Foundation’s Conservation Department. The primary responsibility will be to focus on developing ideas to celebrate "conservation awareness days" at the Newport Aquarium. These celebrations can include developing crafts for kids, providing educational materials for visitors and overall execution the events. Examples of awareness days include: Endangered Species Day, Penguin Awareness days, Party for the Planet and World Ocean’s Day. Other responsibilities include assisting with animal outreaches, preparing animal artwork for sale in the retail store, helping with FrogWatch USA training and other FrogWatch USA activities, and overall assisting the Conservation Manager with everyday tasks. The WAVE Foundation Conservation Intern is a volunteer position with the WAVE Foundation. There is no monetary compensation for this position.

Description
WAVE Foundation is a partner with Newport Aquarium. We go directly into our communities to education on aquatic life and conservation. We have three pillars: Conservation, Education and Volunteer Opportunities. Our volunteers and interns are integral to our communities growth on understanding aquatic life and what we can do locally to impact globally.
