We use your marvelous bags for this 1st and main cleanup which will have 100 volunteers, a picnic, fund raising raffle and prizes; plus we use them for 25 more cleanups that we do on this and 19 other rivers throughout the summer. In all, we take 75 to 100 yards of trash out of these 19 rivers every year. The good news is that we are finding less and less trash in the rivers every year. We are lobbying hard in local communities for toilets and trash cans to be placed at landings which we discovered do more to keep the river clean than our cleanups. Recently, we have started doing cleanups at old illegal dumpsites in the woods near the rivers and creeks. That has been a fun and interesting departure from our regular work. We have removed 100s of yards of trash, construction debris, medical waste from our county's wooded areas.
