Location: The volunteer will meet on a regular basis with the Marketing Specialist, who works at 2100 24 th Ave S, Seattle WA 98144. Work and meeting locations are flexible as many tasks can be accomplished online. Responsibilities

• Work with the Marketing Team to rework Ventures' website to prepare for launch in early June
• Serve as the resident expert for all CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and other front-end development related questions and issues
• Hand-code efficient, semantic, and standards-compliant HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• Optimize website for maximum speed and scalability
• Implement UTM tracking, Google Analytics events tracking, etc.
• Understand project scope and remain flexible to project changes
• Problem-solving including finding and debugging errors in HTML, CSS, JavaScript that may not already be identified in project scope
• Regularly communicate project progress and ask clarifying questions to the Marketing team
• Reliably schedule and attend meetings with Marketing team to ensure goals of website development are accomplished in a timely and realistic manner
• Track and submit volunteer hours to Ventures

• Professional experience with WordPress (custom theme, shortcode, function, etc)
• Expertise in Java, HTML, CSS, WordPress/Superscript, UI development, Google Analytics and Tag Manager
• Appreciation for design, usability, cross-browser compatibility and accessibility concerns
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
• Ability to convert a design document into a working user interface with no loss in fidelity

• Communication skills and flexibility with project changes
• Ability to develop own work plan and honor organizational goals/deadlines
• Passionate about Ventures’ mission and interest in serving diverse and underserved communities
• Ability to build modular WordPress templates
• Familiarity with WordPress plug-ins and widgets that can automate workflows
