Voices for CASA Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the nearly 12,000 children in foster care in Maricopa County through the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program.

To help us in reaching our goal of providing one CASA volunteer for every child, VOICES is looking to contract with an experienced grant writer. Applicants should be mission driven and have experience evaluating grant opportunities and guidelines.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 Years’ Experience in pursing grants resulting in awards of $10,000 or more
  • 3-5 Years’ Experience in working with nonprofits
  • Excellent writing and computer skills
  • Ability to evaluate grant guidelines against program goals
  • Deadline and attention to detail driven

Mission Statement

Voices for CASA Children is dedicated to bringing a voice to every abused and neglected child in state dependency and supports expansion of the CASA of Maricopa County program

Description

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is:

a specially trained citizen-volunteer that advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and within the community.

They are appointed by the juvenile court judge and work alongside case managers, providers and the foster care system.

Advocates are empowered by the court and make critical recommendations to the judge.

The CASA will remain with the child until they are placed in a safe, permanent and loving home.

Voices for CASA Children (Voices) is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting advocacy for abused and neglected children in Maricopa County. Voices raises funds and provides resources to enable CASA of Maricopa County to recruit, train and support a larger volunteer force of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who bring a consistent presence and a voice to these children.
