Maya's Hope is a 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned, special needs, and disadvantaged children on a global scale.

Maya's Hope is seeking a passionate HR specialist to join our team and help us recruit, onboard, train, and retain talented volunteers.

As an HR specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting Maya's Hope's mission by ensuring we have a strong and committed volunteer base.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Recruiting Volunteers: You will collaborate with the HR team to develop effective recruitment strategies and create engaging job descriptions and volunteer postings. You will utilize various channels, including social media, online platforms, and networking events, to attract prospective volunteers who align with our organization's values and goals.
  • Onboarding and Orientation: You will facilitate the onboarding process, ensuring they have a smooth transition into their roles. You will coordinate orientation sessions, provide the necessary paperwork, and offer guidance on organizational policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Training and Development: You will collaborate with the program managers to identify the training needs of volunteers and develop training activities. This may involve creating training materials, organizing and facilitating team meetings, and providing ongoing support and guidance to volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Retention and Engagement: You will develop and implement initiatives to foster volunteer engagement and satisfaction. This may include organizing recognition events, implementing feedback mechanisms, and establishing regular communication channels to ensure volunteers feel valued, supported, and connected to the organization's mission.
  • HR Support: You will assist the team with various administrative tasks, such as maintaining volunteer records, updating databases, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to volunteering.
Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Passion for humanitarian work and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of disadvantaged children.
  • Knowledge of volunteer management best practices and relevant laws and regulations is an advantage.

Time Commitment:

This volunteer position requires a commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible based on the availability of the volunteer.
