Cleanup at Fletcher's Boathouse

To celebrate National Trails Day - the American Hiking Society's annual tribute to the trails where we love to hike, bike, and run - we'll be out on the towpath and shorelines at Fletcher's Cove along the C&O Canal. As the 9th most used National Park in the country, the C&O Canal is truly a local (and national) treasure.

Grab a friend and get your hands dirty for clean water and clear trails! Join Potomac Conservancy at Fletcher's Cove as do our part to clean up the river and keep the Potomac's trails clear as part of this national day of service.

Together we'll ensure this local treasure remains a great place to bike, hike, paddle, and fish. Sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/potomac-stewards-at-fletchers-cove-national-trails-day-tickets-31655587715

Mission Statement

Potomac Conservancy safeguards the lands and waters of the Potomac River and its tributaries, and connects people to this national treasure

Description

Potomac Conservancy is a member-supported nonprofit that works to ensure the Potomac River boasts clean water, healthy lands, and vibrant communities. The Conservancy fights for improved water quality through conservation and advocacy, and empowers local landowners, volunteers, activists, members, and partners to lead the charge for clean streams and safe drinking water access.

Potomac Conservancy works one-on-one with private landowners to protect forested and open space lands; builds a vibrant and diverse river constituency to advocate for passage of river-friendly policies; and mobilizes thousands of volunteers in hands-on pollution cleanup efforts to raise awareness, inspire action and make a difference in our community.
