This is the 20th annual Germantown River Sweep! It starts at Lasher Memorial Park (aka the North Germantown boat launch), located on the Hudson River at the end of Anchorage Road, and goes south, cleaning 4 miles of riverfront, ending at Cheviot Park. Participants walk the distance but 2 vehicles accompany the group; one to remove collected trash and the other to carry supplies (tools, trash bags, water, snacks). The group stops at the half-way point for a snack of water, muffins and apples. The organizers can provide transportation back to the starting location for those who don't wish to walk the 4 miles back. Boots and work gloves are recommended.
