Hours: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 9:30am-1pm
We are looking for a consistent volunteer or two to help with client check-in at the Pike Market Food Bank during our food distribution hours. This furthers our mission by helping to provide a safe, welcoming, and dignified environment for all who are in need of our services. The Check-In Volunteer will ask for client name and identification (if they have it) and check them into our system. They will assist new clients in filling out an intake form in the client’s preferred language and enter basic information into our database. We are hoping to find volunteers who enjoy working in customer service and have basic computer skills.
Database knowledge and second language proficiency (especially Mandarin or Cantonese) would be helpful but are not required.

The Pike Market Food Bank provides services to low-income and homeless people of all ages to address the problems that result from inadequate nutrition and isolation in those communities.
