Use your media savvy to help the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation raise awareness for the Ride for Kids! The Ride for Kids is the longest standing, most succesful charity motorcycle ride in the country. This family friendly event brings together motorcylists, our brain tumor families and their supporters for a fun day that raises money for much needed research.
Don't ride a motorcycle or know much about them? No problem!
Position Title: Ride for Kids Media Lead
Works with: Task Force Leader(s), PBTF staff and other Task Force volunteers
Position summary:
The Media Lead assists in the planning and implementation of the Ride for Kids event with a focus on obtaining media coverage, distributing marketing materials, recruitment and sponsorships.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work with PBTF communications staff to obtain and secure Ride for Kids media sponsor and coverage in web, print, radio and TV outlets
- Add Ride for Kids event information to community calendars & web postings
- Secure day of event media coverage (TV and/or radio)
- Secure day of event volunteer photographer and videographer
- Coordinate marketing material distribution throughout the community
- Coordinate and attend recruitment events
- Assist in securing Ride for Kids sponsors and participants
- Attend monthly Ride for Kids volunteer Task Force meetings and provide updates to Task Force Leaders
- Promote Ride for Kids through daily professional activities
- Attend and provide volunteer leadership at Ride for Kids
Time Required (approximately):
Per month:
Attend volunteer Task Force meeting (1) 2 hours
Track community outreach progress and complete tasks 4 hours
Provide correspondence to TFL and PBTF staff 1 hour
Total: 7 hours per month
Additional time requirements:
One initial planning meeting with Task Force Chair 1 hour
