Every Saturday from 12pm to 3pm Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue holds adoption events at Petco in Arvada. Since we are completely foster based this is the only time that the dogs are all together and able to be visited with/adopted out. At our adoption events we need volunteers that can walk adult dogs around with "Adopt Me" vests on, bring puppies to and from interview pens, interview potential adopters, watch over the puppies (cleaning up after them, making sure they have water, toys, etc.), talk with the public about our rescue, and set-up as well as breakdown the event itself.

We wouldn't be able to do what we do without our incredible volunteers and fosters! Join the RMPR team today and start making a difference in the lives of rescue animals.

Mission Statement

To rescue, foster, vet and re-home unwanted shelter animals and promote spay and neuter of all animals. End Pet Overpopulation with our SPAY IT FORWARD program, providing subsidized spay neuter surgeries for impoverished counties in the South West US.

Description

A few of us volunteered at a local rescue here in Colorado. While fostering was rewarding, the needs of the animals were not all met - we were isoltated with our charges and unsupported. Not feeling the most was was being done for the sake of the animals, we felt inspired. "WE CAN DO BETTER!"

Fortunately, there were others that felt the same and the Rocky Mountains Puppy Rescue was born! We credit our previous experiences as having inspired us to dig deeper into the rescue community...NO ONE works alone and se we sat down to hash out the beginnings of RMPR. We have expanded and added many positions including a Foster and Volunteer Coordinator, Operations Mnager, and an Event & Online Content Manager. Many folks have joined the mission and have added many wonderful facets to the group.
