Far Corners Community Musical Theatre seeks an energetic, flexible, and creative individual to direct a teen production of Fiddler on the Roof in Costa Rica this summer. Join us in a breathtakingly beautiful environment as we put on our 11th annual musical theatre production in Costa Rica with a fantastic, diverse group of youth.

Stage Director responsibilities:

• Direct a full-length musical (performed in Spanish) with a cast of Costa Rican youth, in collaboration with a music director

• Teach basic acting and performance skills

• Develop an artistic vision for the production including all design elements

• Lead teens in activities outside of rehearsal, such as cooperative games and improvisation

• Support other aspects of the production and program

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, or equivalent amount of relevant work experience

• Intermediate or higher Spanish proficiency

• Experience directing musicals

• Creativity and willingness to work in a non-traditional theatre setting where resources are limited

• Attention to detail

• Experience working with children/youth

• Interest in and open mind towards immersion in a new culture

• Flexibility, patience and maturity

• Commitment to abide by our drug/alcohol policy

Up to $700 in airfare in addition to food, housing and in-country transportation for the duration of the program will be provided by the organization.
