ROUTE DRIVER-FOOD PANTRY

Our food pantry driver drives to and collects food from grocery stores. The food is returned to the food pantry warehouse where it is packaged for the next day’s distribution. The driver take takes our vehicle on the designated route to pick up dry and perishable food items - collects at the store on a set schedule - inspects food for condition - puts food in approved boxes for transport - weighs - transfers boxes to the truck - completes paperwork at each (3-4) store. Upon completion of the route the driver assists warehouse volunteers to unload the truck at warehouse dock. Driver restocks the truck for next day’s route, ensures the truck is fueled, and completes paperwork for office records and DOT inspections.

Time Commitment - 645am-1045am on Weekend A or B Schedule
Schedule A - 1ST and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Schedule B - 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.

Orientation and Training Provided
*This program is ideal for someone who has no major physical limitations. There is a fair amount of lifting and the person must have some mechanical knowledge. A person is physically active for the majority of the shift.
