We are providing transportation for two young men who are attending vocational training provided by Fluor in Pasadena. It's a wonderful opportunity for these guys because when they finish they will be certified and will be able to get some good paying jobs at one of the plants. Both of the guys we're helping are studying electrical.
We are looking for 4 people who live in or close to Galveston who would be willing to drive the Salvation Army van to LaPorte one afternoon per week, leaving at 3:00 pm and returning to Galveston at approximately 6:30 pm. There are also morning drive-time opportunities.
You must have a valid driver license and we have to have to submit your information to our Divisional Headquarters to ensure you will be covered under our insurance.
This is an opportunity to really make an impact in the lives of these men. You will definitely be blessed if you take advantage of this chance to Do the Most Good!

Description
The Salvation Army of Galveston County provides a transitional residential program in Galveston that seeks to restore and rebuild lives in Galveston by providing temporary shelter, case management and education services, and tools for securing employment. At the end of their stay, it is our desire that each one who participates leaves with employment, housing and the tools to maintain both. In addition, emergency rent, utility and food assistance is offered to Galveston County residents. Church services are offered on Galveston Island and in Texas City on Sunday mornings for anyone in the community.
