GRANT READER

Purpose

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), in collaboration with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, is seeking qualified professionals with diverse backgrounds, experiences and expertise to serve as grant readers in response to the OSSE Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) and Workforce Investment Council (WIC) Career Pathways Grant Request for Applications. OSSE and the WIC are partnering via the grant competition to fund eligible providers of demonstrated effectiveness to offer innovative integrated education and training services to District residents to fulfill the requirements of the District of Columbia WIOA Unified State Plan.

We are seeking qualified professionals with experience and/or expertise in areas such as, but not limited to, adult education, integrated education and training, workforce development, workforce investment systems, apprenticeship programs, program evaluation, academic assessments, student support services, competency models, career pathways, career planning, recruitment and hiring.

Benefits of Serving as a Grant Reader

Participating in the OSSE AEFLA and WIC Career Pathways Grant review process is an excellent professional development opportunity, as well as a chance to serve. Training and preparation will be provided to readers as well as individual support for each review, if needed. Readers will be exposed to new and innovative ideas and engage in the grant-making process of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), a major funder of public education services in the District of Columbia. Readers will have an opportunity to meet and network with other experts and to acquire knowledge and skills that may be applicable to other professional endeavors.

Compensation for Services

Grant Readers, with the exception of government employees, will receive a modest honorarium for their participation in the grant review process.
