Gallery Walk

After School Matters is looking for 3 friendly volunteers to help out at our upcoming teen-led Gallery Walk Arts Showcase, being held at our Gallery 37 Center for the Arts. This is a culminating event for teens in our Advanced after school programs, where they get to invite friends and family to see the pieces they've been working on through the spring session.

A little more about the Gallery Walk: Our Gallery Walk is a bi-annual culminating event that showcases the work of our Downton teen program participants. Programs such as Printmaking, Painting on Canvas, Video Production, Creative Writing, Graphic Design, and Culinary Arts contribute their talents to celebrate the end of our fall program cycle and the hard work of the teens. This year we will occupy the notable Store Front Theatre for a Media Screening and Literary Salon. We are also haivng a Culinary Buffet, live painting, 2-D art display, and Live Yoga Demos in our Dance Studio. We are expecting a large amount of guests.

When is the event? Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Shifts Available are: 1:00pm-4:00pm

What would I be helping with? We have various roles in need of support:

  • Greeters & Registration
  • Theatre Attendants
  • Crowd Support
  • Event Materials handout
All volunteers will receive an After School Matters T-shirt, name tag, and an overview of their assigned duties prior to their shift. Requirements:

  • Completion of brief Volunteer Application & Agreement Form (website)
  • Must be comfortable interacting with staff, teens, parents, and other event guests.
